Invasive fungal infections are a major cause of death worldwide, especially in vulnerable patients. Candida albicans is one of the species involved in invasive fungal infections, with a very high mortality rate. In this study, we focused specifically on fluconazole-resistant strains. In search for fungicidal agents for the treatment of invasive fungal infections, benzofuro[3,2-d]pyrimidin (7), derived from (-)- cercosporamide, is synthesized in 6 steps by well – known reactions. Compound 7 showed inhibitory activity of CAAL 28 with IC50 of 30.27 μM.
