Summary
In this research, 60 samples of 20 medicinal materials collected in Phu Tho province market were evaluated for quality according to the guidance of the Vietnamsese or Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The results showed that 25 samples (41.6 %) did not meet specifications, 5 samples (8.3 %) were incorrect for qualitative analysis, 2 samples (3.3 %) did not match the description, 18 samples (30.0 %) failed to meet the requirements for their active ingredient content. The results of this study can help regulatory agencies propose useful solutions to strengthen the inspection and the supervision of the quality of medicinal materials circulating on the market.
