TÓM TẮT

Promoting entrepreneurship has proved itself as an essence in the development of business activities in general and in the pharmaceutical area. The objective of this paper is (1) to determine factors affecting on entrepreneurial intentions (EI) of students at Hanoi University of Pharmacy, (2) to assess the impact of each factor on entrepreneurial intentions of students at Hanoi University of Pharmacy (HUP). This cross-sectional study was conducted with 1199 students (from the first year to fifth year) at HUP in March 2019. Factor analysis (EFA) and multi regression analysis were employed to identify factors as well as the intensity of each factor influencing the entrepreneurial intentions of students. The reliability of the questionnaire was tested using Cronbach’s alpha (= 0.923). The result indicated that there are four main factors influencing students’ entrepreneurial intentions explaining 57.9 % of the total outcome. These factors include (1) Perceived desirability, (2) Perceived feasibility, (3) Propensity to act and (4) Entrepreneurship education, in which, perceived desirability was considered as the factor having the most motivation among students (mean = 3.45; SD = 0.8). This factor was also seen as the highest impact on the learner motivation according to the regression results (beta = 0.533, p < 0.05). HUP needs to consider offering appropriate interventional solutions such as entrepreneurial courses, as well as creating entrepreneurial ecosystem in order to improve entrepreneurial intentions for pharmacy students.
