TÓM TẮT

A capillary gas chromatographic (CGC) method was developed for simultaneous determination of camphor and menthol in their liniments. The method was established as: Stationary phase – Polyethylene glycol 20M (30 m x 0.32 mm), 0.5 mm in film thickness; Carrier gas – Helium; Split ratio – 5 : 1 with a linear velocity of about 33.3 cm/s. Temperature of the column – 50 oC for 3 min, then raising at rate of 20 oC/min to 230 oC and maintaining unchanged for 3 mins; Injection port temperature – Maintaining constant at 200 oC; Detector – Flame-ionisatio, at constant temperature of 250 oC. The method was validated by the ICH guidelines: The linearity was good at the range of 0,50 – 1,50 mg/ml for menthol (r > 0.9999) and 0.10 – 0.30 mg/ml for camphor (r > 0.9999); RSD of intra- and inter-day precision variations < 1.5 %; mean recovery was 100.31 ± 0.23)% (RSD = 0.30 %) for menthol and 100.47 ± 0.34% (RSD = 0.44 %) for camphor.
