TÓM TẮT

To investigate factors associated with poor glycemic control of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients a cross-sectional study was conducted through retrospective 6.078 electronic medical records of outpatients with HbA1c test from October 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019 at National Hospital of Endocinology 2. Univariate and multivariate logistic regressions were performed to find factors associated with poor glycemic control defined as HbA1c ≥7%. The independent risk factors for poor glycemic control were: female (OR: 1.50; 95% CI: 1.25-1.79); high triglyceride (TG ≥ 7) (OR: 1.48; 95% CI: 1.24 – 1.77); 2 antidiabetic medicines (OR: 2.55; 95% CI: 1.95 – 3.33); ³ 3 antidiabetic medicines (OR: 3.79; 95% CI: 2.73 – 5.26); use of injectable antidiabetic agents (monotherapy) (OR: 4.58; 95% CI: 3.49-6.00); combination of oral and injectable agents (OR: 3.82; 95% CI: 3.04 – 4.79). These findings indicate how complex optimal glycaemic control is, highlighting the need for tailored interventions in high-risk subpopulations with T2DM.
